Description
The CADNet STW Program High School Intern is a paid internship position that provides high school students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of computer-aided design (CAD) and the opportunity to work with industry professionals. Interns will work on a variety of projects, including creating and editing 2D and 3D drawings, document scanning, document imaging software, and generating supporting documents.
Students learn the importance of time management and meeting deadlines, as well as how to meet and exceed expectations. They become an integral part of the team and gain skills that will help them throughout school and life.
Upon completion of the program, students are proficient in AutoCAD and have a good working knowledge of the drafting practices and standards in use today.
Responsibilities
- Create and edit 2D and 3D drawings using CAD software
- Develop and quality check CAD models
- Generate electronic supporting files
- Assist with other CAD-related tasks as assigned
- This is a virtual position in the classroom
Qualifications
Must have at least one semester of CAD/Engineering class and teacher recommendation
Must have and maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher
Must be at least 16 years old or older
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
Must have a smart phone or tablet, along with access to a computer
