Description
SUMMARY: A Retail Associate for Wilderness at the Smokies is responsible for maintaining outstanding customer service, generating sales, merchandising, and safeguarding company assets. The cashier is also tasked with upkeep of the shops (stocking, cleaning, and straightening), keeping current on functions operations of each store, and keeping current on company/departmental policies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
- Ensure that each guest receives outstanding customer service by providing a friendly environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging every guest, being knowledgeable regarding the opening/closing schedules of all Wilderness outlets, maintaining product knowledge, assisting guests in selection of merchandise, and being knowledgeable about local attractions
- Be aware of all promotions and advertisements including special packages and discounts
- Assist in merchandising, display maintenance, and housekeeping
- Process and replenish merchandise
- Monitor floor stock and re-stock from inventory
- Inspect all merchandise for flaws and keep a record of any merchandise to be returned to vendor
- Ticket merchandise
- Record any damaged merchandise to be excluded from inventory
- Assist in physical inventory
- Make notes of any tasks left unfinished
- Communicate guest requests to manager
- Ring up sales and bag merchandise
- All other duties assigned by manager
- Required to meet with Retail Leadership monthly.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: (Level 1) Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: (Level 1) Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY: (Level 1) Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
